“Anton Wildgans Award” of the Federation of Austrian IndustriesThis annual Award is being provided to younger or middle aged Austrian writers.Back in 1962 the Federation of Austrian Industries decided to further expand the organization's cultural activities. Therefor the "Anton Wildgans Award" for outstanding performance in literature was initiated. Ever since this annual Award is being provided to younger or middle aged Austrian writers whose creativity and performance is only about to peak. Considered for the Award are writers of Austrian nationality who publish in German, no matter where they might reside. A committee is in charge of selecting the winner. The name "Anton Wildgans Award" is meant illustrate Austrian Industry's appreciation of and devotion to this extraordinary poet, who like few others represented a very "Austrian style" at its best.
