IV: Performance and Responsibility

The Federation of Austrian Industries (IV) is a voluntary body representing the interests of Austrian industry, currently comprising about 3,500 members.

The Federation of Austrian Industries (Industriellenvereinigung - IV), currently consists of about 3,500 members and is a voluntary body representing the interests of Austrian industries. Its central goal is to advocate for its members both in Austria and at the European level in a targeted and sustainable manner. "Performance and Responsibility" - this is the Federation's motto in its efforts to promote an environment of growth, employment and prosperity in Austria and in Europe.

The Federation of Austrian Industries is run by senior executives serving on a voluntary basis and by a lean staff. Its structure comprises nine independent regional groups, a central organisation at the federal level and the European office in Brussels, established already back in 1988.

Priorities

The most important areas, topics and initiatives at a glance

As a lobbying organisation, the Federation of Austrian Industries is making every effort to represent the interests of its members both in Austria and at the European level and to contribute towards strengthening Austria and Europe as attractive locations for business and industry.

The following priorities have been set for 2010/2011:

  3. Reform of the health care system
  4. Education
  5. Modernisation of the tax system
  6. Europe 2020 - growth, employment and prosperity
  7. Building an intelligent infrastructure
  8. Promoting research and innovation
  9. Industrial corporations and leading competence units in Austria
  10. Implementing labour-market reforms
  11. Labour law reform
  12. Transforming the Austrian energy system into a "low-carbon economy"
  13. Migration and integration
  14. Women - work - family
  15. Supporting Austrian industrial investments in foreign markets
